Jillian Chaplin
Artistic Director + Illustrator

Jillian is a queer/male-female-male trans artist and creator whose curiosity has never been dictated by the limitations of a single medium. He has been a stamp carver, wood carver, print maker, web developer, chainmail weaver, illustrator, tattooist, sewist, artist, and musician.

After spending 6 years in Japan he moved to Seattle in 2019 to continue his career as a tattooist and pursue artistry full time. While in Japan, Jillian explored ancient techniques of Japanese woodblock printing, which has greatly influenced the style and design of the Odyssey of the Beast Tarot Deck.

Julia Bruk
Writer + Photographer

Julia / Yuliya was born in Smolensk, Russia, immigrating to the Pacific Northwest at age six. Energized by the natural world, she creates with the lens of a camera, the power of new technologies, and the zeal of written words. Her commitment to bringing the community together through artistic mediums has compelled her to curate gallery shows, build interactive artworks, and develop diverse, inclusive spaces and tools for gathering and connecting. She shares her jungle home with 4 budgies, 3 giant goldfish, and a mystery snail named Babaganoush.

Yamasaki
Managing Editor

Since childhood, Yamasaki was told not to simply say something was good, but to specify positive points and what could be improved. Finally this unasked for skill has found a willing recipient in being able to edit this Odyssey. Yama was raised in the friendliest town on Puget Sound but spent the most formative years of her life in the wild west outpost of the Evergreen State capital city. She now lives amongst geckos in the countryside of Japan and has become one of the worst kinds of people, a grad school student.
